Beer & Bar

Our business is split into two parts.

Our Bar: A proper village pub serving proper beer, properly, with an open fire, large quiet garden, and a snug area with big screen TV, sky and BT sports showing all of your favourite sporting events.

Our Restaurant: An independent eatery showcasing modern european food with classical techniques for more formal dining. Not pub grub but not fine dining, nor gastropub. An interesting, short eclectic menu of local produce.

"The pub is the hub" and is used by a large percentage of village residents, church groups, investment clubs, bakers, builders, bankers, doctors, dentists, teachers, parents, pilots and just about everyone else. It is the heart of our community.

Bring your dog. Wear muddy boots. Park your bike. Our bar is an all inclusive place to be. We ARE NOT a pretentious gastro pub. As long as you're not rude or misbehaving....all are welcome. Horses are asked however to be kept outside. It's quite small!

Our friendly, old fashioned bar is traditional and cosy with a small snug and main bar area. It is open to all (we would however recommend that a bar is not a suitable place for under 18's after 7.00pm but at an adults discretion and no unaccompanied under 18s after 7.00pm) and has a log fire in winter.

We have Traditional Northamtonshire Hood Skittles, Dominoes, cards, chess, jenga, scrabble & puzzles to keep you entertained.

New for 2018 we have installed a Large screen TV in the snug area and will be showing sports on both SKY SPORTS and BT SPORT. Rugby, football, tennis, F1, Darts, Boxing and more are all available to watch. Contact us and we will ensure your team is shown!

Recognised by CAMRA as a Locale Pub, "Recommended" in our area, joint runner up pub of the year 2011 and winner pub of the season - Spring 2011 & listed was first listed in the Good Beer Guide in 2012. After heartbreakingly losing our spot we have worked tirelessly to get our spot back and have since been listed in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018. Recognised nationally by CAMRA as a real cider pub and in our local area as CAMRA Real Cider Pub of the Year 2014 & joint 2015.

We are a freehouse that specialises in drinks a little out of the ordinary, Local Cider from Wharf Cider and Distillery in based near MK alongside other ciders meaning we sell up to 5 or six draught real ciders at once!

We carry a selection of fine malt whiskies and gins over 30 to chose from!

We are also proud to stock a changing range of keg products, with Warsteiner Pilsner, our own house stout and Helles style lager, Konig Ludwig Weiss Beer and 13 Guns APA all on draught
.We're only a little pub rather than a craft beer mecca, but we believe in offering more than just commercial products.

There are a selection of food magazines, cookbooks, reference books & newspapers in both the Bar & Restaurant area.

We also have a large car park with a beer garden situated at the bottom.

Bar Snacks?

We don't serve jacket potatoes or sandwiches but we do serve a very popular international small dish style snack menu in our bar and garden for those looking to eat less formally. Mini versions of things on our main restaurant menus and a few easy to eat snacks. Unfortunately we do not take reservations for this menu and it is not available in the restaurant area in the evenings. At very busy times this menu may not be available.
