Beer & Bar

Our business is split into two parts.

Our Bar: A proper village pub serving proper beer, properly, with tapas snacks.

Our Restaurant: An independent eatery showcasing modern european food with classical techniques for more formal dining.

"The pub is the hub" and is used by a large percentage of village residents, church groups, investment clubs, bakers, builders, bankers, doctors, dentists, teachers, parents, pilots and just about everyone else. It is the heart of our community.

Our friendly, old fashioned bar is traditional and cosy with a small snug and main bar area. It is open to all (we would recommend that it is not a suitable place for under 18's after 7.00pm) and has a log fire in winter.

We have Traditional Northamtonshire Hood Skittles, Dominoes, cards, chess, jenga, scrabble & puzzles to keep you entertained. We believe in good conversation, we're proud to be a "quiet" pub. That means no television, juke box, fruit machines or games machines to spoil your pint.

Recognised by CAMRA as a Locale Pub, "Recommended" in our area, joint runner up pub of the year 2011 and winner pub of the season - Spring 2011 & listed in the Good Beer Guide 2012. Recognised nationally by CAMRA as a real cider pub and in our local area as CAMRA Cider Pub of the Year 2014 & joint 2015.

We are a freehouse that specialises in drinks a little out of the ordinary, Local Cider from Virtual Orchard in Wolverton Mill & Woughton Orchard, based in MK alongside other ciders meaning we sell 5 or six draught real ciders at once!

We carry a selection of fine malt whiskies and premium spirits, and around 30 wines by the glass including natural wines.

We are also proud to stock a changing range of keg products, colder and fizzier doesn't always (although it often does!) mean worse beer.
We rotate interesting craft brews and continental beers such as Concrete Cow's Dirty Cow, Oakham Green Devil IPA, Meantime, Brewdog, Magic Rock, Schneider Weiss, Trappiste, American Brews and more and have more than 20 interesting bottled beers. We're only a little pub rather than a craft beer mecca, but we believe in offering more than just commercial products.

There are a selection of food magazines, cookbooks, reference books & newspapers in both the Bar & Restaurant area.

We also have a large car park with a beer garden situated at the bottom.

Bar Snacks?

We don't serve jacket potatoes or sandwiches but we do serve a very popular international tapas style snack menu in our bar and garden for those looking to eat less formally. Unfortunately we do not take reservations for this menu and it is not available in the restaurant area in the evenings.
